Taiwan 8D7N Free & Easy Tour - CartonKing (紙箱王) & Small Swiss Garden (小瑞士花园)

Continuing from our visit to Green Green Grassland, we decided to make our way down to Swiss Garden to stop for lunch and rest. Unfortunately, my legs were strained on Day 3 (probably accidentally over strained my legs on Day 1 at XiaoWuLai. Even the stairs up to Carton King seems impossible. Nevertheless, I made it.

Did some reading up and learnt that if we spend above NTD350 per person at Carton King, we will receive free admission ticket to Small Swiss Garden (Full ticket price is NT120). Sounds like a nice deal since we already decided wanting to experience dining at Carton King.

Stepping into Carton King, most of the furnishing and furniture are made of corrugated paper - even the cups and serving plates. Don't worry about the sturdiness of the chair as Hubby tested seating on it and it can withstand his weight very well.

Hot drinks are placed inside a square card box, easy for us to carry around. Once you finished the drink, simply flatten the box and you can bring it back for souvenir and turn it back into a saving box.

Our lunch - could not recalled what we ordered but the food was alright. What amazed me was the fork and spoon was kept in a beautiful box which you can also turn it into a light shade.

The restaurant is just part of Carton King. There is also a shop at CingJing where you can buy some interesting souvenir back. Our experience at the outlet in Taichung, which is bigger in area has been wonderful as well.

After our lunch, we strolled around Small Swiss Garden (小瑞士花园) which is just next to Carton King. My legs felt more alive after sitting for awhile but still strained.

Nice spot to take some pictures

You can also buy some feed to feed the ducks.

We did not get to explore deeper into the garden as the children were feeling restless and they prefer to return back to Green Green Grassland to feed the sheep. :)

We might have missed more scenic spots at Small Swiss Garden but it seems a nice place to explore if time was on our side.

As my legs were hurting again, Hubby figured I probably won't be able to make it back up to Green Green Grassland by walking.... Thankfully, our Minsu heard our pleas and they gladly drove us back to the grassland. ^_^

Taiwan 8D7N Free & Easy Tour - CingJing Farm (清境农场)

Our visit to CingJing Farm (清境农场) was probably the children's favourite destination throughout our 8D7N tour in Taiwan. After checking in to 黃慶果園民宿, free transportation service was provided to drive us to CingJing Farm.

Entrance ticketing price list to enter Green Green Grassland

Do note that there is Equestrian (horse) and Sheep show at designated timings. Hence, do check out the schedule to avoid missing them.

Horse Show : 10.45am and 15.45pm (Daily)
Sheep Show : 09.30am and 14.30pm (Saturdays, Sundays, Holidays & Summer and winter vacation (except Wednesday)

Since we were at Green Green Grassland on a weekday, we missed the sheep sheering show. Nevertheless, the gorgeous scenic view and the free-roaming sheep on the green green grassland made up for our disappointment.

Even though it was the month of late November and standing at 2000 meters above sea level, the temperature is pretty warm. Thankfully, with the sunny weather, we have a clear panorama view of the mountains and grassland. The air is fresh and the grassland is HUGE! Herds of sheep were grazing around everywhere, without boundaries!

Children get plenty of opportunities getting up close to the sheep and feed them. (Note: Feeds for the sheep is available for purchase at various sheep food dispenser machines around the grassland ~ TWD$10). The sheep are gentle and very accustom to having close interactions with humans.

We made our way to the stage area to catch the Equestrian Show starting at 10.45am. The better seats were already taken but we managed to get a shady spot. It was a astonishing performance put up by the performers as they displayed many applauding stunts while riding on the horse.

Lots of photo-taking opportunities at Green Green Grassland.

View of the mountains from the top.

Be prepared to walk a lot at CingJing Farm as there are slopes and you have walk up and down quite a bit. Apart from feeding the sheep, we also took on the 487-Step Trail (步步高昇步道) - the downwards path of course (as my legs were hurting since Day 2). I was actually pretty confused as it was also all the 499-Step Trail, but in fact, it was only 487 steps. After researching online, Taiwanese believe 9 is a lucky number and 99 symbolizes prosperity and hence padded the name.

At the beginning of the trail you can also spot the bronze statue of ex-president Chiang Kai-shek.

The trail by the stairways is beautiful! You get up close view of the mountain trees, and I can imagine how pretty it will be during autumn.

Hubby at the bottom of the stairways. You can always take up the challenge to climb up 487 steps at your leisure pace back to Green Green Grassland.

We walked down as we were hungry and decided to have lunch at Carton King and visit Small Swiss Garden before returning to CingJing Farm again. By the time we finished our lunch, my legs were in greater pain and we are very thankful that the transport from our minsu drove us back to CingJing Farm again.

View of Green Green Grassland in the afternoon.

Maybe it was a weekday, hence there isn't a big crowd.

The children loves feeding the sheep and we bought a few packets for them to have some close interactions with the furry animal.

The sheep are very smart and they follow where the food goes. If you have the box in your pocket, they will get close to it very quickly!

We walked to the open field where more sheep are grazing on the grassland. Beware of where you are stepping as there are poops around. :)

The children are busy surrounding the sheep and getting them together.

They managed to 'attract' a brown one.

CingJing Farm is a great place for children and adults to visit. It was indeed a wonderful experience to see the sheep roaming freely and our kiddos had so much fun. It was a pity we did not manage to catch the sheep shearing show, but we brought back many fond memories, pictures and happiness. We spent almost a day at the Farm and till now the children still speak fondly of it and that they would love to return and re-visit.

Wellness Delights from Nature's Glory

Year 2017 has been a year where I have not been in my pink of health. I was having giddy spells and feeling tired most of the time. By noon time, I would be on the verge of dozing off and would love to have a quick power nap. Somehow my body is telling me that somewhere is wrong and hence I went for my full body check up in late 2016 and the results indicated that my iron count was exceptionally low.

After multiple visits to Tan Tock Seng Hospital and visiting the Gynaecology in KKH, doctor noted that I have Urinary Track Infection (UTI) but the final diagnosis was Menorrhagia (abnormally heavy bleeding at menstruation) that might have resulted in my low iron count.

I have a history of UTI since a couple of years ago but it was periodical. Nature's Glory has kindly sent me Nano Energy Booster (NEB) - SP20 UTI patches to help with my UTI condition but I had to go for my Hysteroscopy, D&C (Dilation and Curettage) surgery last September, where the uterine lining was scraped. After which, I had a period of rest and recovery before I get to try the NEB patches in late November.

I was actually peculiar how a patch will help with an internal condition like UTI? The creators of NEB actually 'written' a restorative programme into the small metalised patch,  where the material is charged and can present as a "field of information" which the body can understand and received. Sounds very complicated, unbelievable yet amazing.

I followed the instructions on the packaging and attached 1 patch on my body (above left waist) for the next couple of weeks.

I was not able to confirm if my UTI condition got better as I did not feel any major changes to my body but a general observation was there was lesser white discharge and itchiness from the vaginal area. I guess these are considered good signs? The patches are rather sticky, yet I can hardly feel its presence and I had them on with me 24x7 (even in shower). So far there are 2 times the patches came off. The first patch came off on the 2nd day while the 3rd patch came off on the final day.

Nature's Glory Organic Propolis Extract - made only from propolis and manuka honey, extracted from tree barks by bees, it has a lot of health benefits including helping to ease pain in throat, increase body immunity to flu and cough. Just recently, I started to feel a little discomfort in my throat and I had about 5-10 drops of the Propolis extract and it helped to ease the pain sensation.

Apart from health products, Nature's Glory also have a wide range of good food products. We received a packet of Soba Buckwheat noodles and Kombu.

Pardon my limited culinary skills, I probably did not do justice to the quality food. Thankfully, I managed to cook up a simple bowl of Soba noodle and a bowl of Kombu soup successfully!

We hope Year 2018 will be a year filled with Good Health and Wellness!
