~ Past Holiday Experiences 2 - Muar-Malacca Dec 2004 ~

I vaguely remember my inlaws, Jasper, uncle's family and us drove 2 cars down on our 2 days 1 night trip to Muar-Malacca.

Date: 17th December - 18th December 2004
Location: Muar, Malacca

We begin with our search of a famous temple 南亭寺(善才爷庙) in Muar which I believe will bring wealth.

Along our drive down, we saw some monkeys along the road side and also got lost for quite awhile as Hubby had a difficult time locating the temple. Asking for location was not an easy task too.. We finally found it and had prayers inside the temple. It was a worthwhile attempt as Hubby did had some wealth on returning home. :D Lucky
We drove up to Malacca and check-in to Mahkota Hotel. (http://www.mahkotahotel.com.my/) Then we drove out again to tour round the streets of Malacca. :) Not forgetting to try the famous Chicken Rice Ball! (Although I still prefer the normal chix rice).
Mahkota Hotel has a pretty neat pool and the children had a dip in the waters upon returning to the hotel.
We stayed in a 3 bedroom apartment and the price is very affordable. It is very spacious with a living room and kitchen area. The location is very convenient as well with Mahkota Parade nearby and within walking distance to various historical places of interest.

The only down side is the room is pretty old and a bit dusty. However, I love the view from the balcony! Imagine waking up to see the sunrise!

We had our breakfast at the hotel, check-out and drove down to 宝山亭.

Before leaving Malacca, we stopped by "Zoo Melaka"-2nd largest zoo in Malaysia. (http://www.melaka.net/zoomelaka/index.htm).
The older children had a chance with the Horse Rides. :)

Dinner was stopping by a resturant near JB before heading back to Singapore. A Quick Weekend getaway (^_^)

~ Trip Itinerary Preparation ~

We will be going for our 1st family tour (alone) to Cebu-Manila soon! :) Heard from my filipino colleagues that they are expecting another 2 typhoons in Manila during Nov/Dec time frame. I am crossing my fingers and toes that it will be fine when we are travelling there later this month.

In the meantime, I am fixing up the itinerary for our Free & Easy trip. (5 nights in Cebu and 3 nights in Manila). Hubby will be taking care of the schedule in Manila while I'm checking out the Cebu-Bohol-Mactan tours.

Current overall look at the tentative plans.

27th Nov - Cebu (Ayala Mall)

28th Nov - Bohol (Chocolate Hills, Loboc River Cruise, Tarsier sanctuary, Hinagdanan Cave, Firefly? ... )

29th Nov - Bohol (Dolphin/Whale watching, Bee Farm)

30th Nov - Cebu City Tour (SM Mall, Taoist Temple, Magellan's Cross...)

1st Dec - Mactan Tour (Magellan's Shrine, Guitar factories, Lapu Lapu monument...)

2nd - 5th Dec - Manila (Hubby will be arranging) :)

We have reserved "New Horizon Hotel" in Manila, "Diplomat Hotel" in Cebu and "Dumaluan Beach Resort" in Bohol.

Hopefully by this week or so, the plans will be fixed. Really appreciate Lutchie's help and advice! She has been giving me a Great Tips and a BIG Help with this! Getting me tour guide contacts, lending us her car, buying boat tickets etc. Thank you SOOO MUCH! I can't wait to see the clear waters, nice beaches, starfishes... ! :D

~ Past Holiday Experiences 1 - Genting, KL Jun 2004 ~

While working on the new blog layout, I realise a lot of Holiday experiences were being missed out. The reason being I only started blogging in 2007 and any trips before that has not been recorded. So sad... The memories are fading and I can't recall many of the details. Here I am trying to put the pieces back together.. Starting from when Denver was born. :) His FIRST trip with us to Genting and Kuala Lumpur when he was going to be 1 year old!

Date: 7th June - 10th June 2004
Location: Genting, Kuala Lumpur

We went with my inlaws, Bbil's family and Uncle's family. Stayed in Theme Park Hotel during our 1 night stay in Genting. ^_^

Cable car ride down to visit 天后宫.

Moving to Kuala Lumpur for the next 2 nights accomodation at Swiss Garden Hotel. It was pretty near to Berjaya Times Square and we walked our way there where the children had a lot of fun in the Biggest Indoor theme park (COSMO's WORLD) in Malaysia. (http://www.timessquarekl.com/) Later in the evening we visit Suria KLCC where we leisurely shop and enjoy the night scene of the city.

Finally going back home but of course not forgetting to take some photos before we go! ^_^
